In above video Dr. Mansab Ali is talking about Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, is a type of cancer that begins in the cells lining the stomach. It’s one of the less common cancers in developed countries but is more prevalent in regions like East Asia, particularly Japan.

Stomach cancer often develops slowly over many years, starting with precancerous changes in the lining of the stomach. These changes rarely cause symptoms and typically go unnoticed. As the cancer grows, it can invade deeper layers of the stomach wall and spread to nearby organs and lymph nodes.

Symptoms of stomach cancer can include:

  1. Persistent indigestion or heartburn
  2. Feeling full after eating small amounts
  3. Nausea or vomiting
  4. Unexplained weight loss
  5. Appetite loss
  6. Abdominal pain or discomfort, especially in the upper abdomen
  7. Difficulty swallowing
  8. Vomiting blood or blood in stools
  9. Fatigue

Risk factors for stomach cancer include infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria, a diet high in salty and smoked foods, smoking, being overweight or obese, a family history of stomach cancer, and certain genetic conditions.

Treatment options for stomach cancer depend on the stage of the cancer, but they may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. Early detection and treatment can significantly improve the prognosis for individuals with stomach cancer.
